Dear Families:
Every year camp provides us with the unique opportunity to work with teenagers from our extended community as well as graduate students from surrounding colleges. We provide enriching outdoor activities for children and the little ones attending camp can feel all the supportive teamwork in action.
Every summer we see spikes in child-development over the course of summer camp. Why? We offer developmentally appropriate activities, 1:1 or 1:2 adult-to-child ratio, music, art, and of course, lots of sensory play …but, what else? We help children feel organized by adhering to a camp schedule, a daily routine that makes sense to them and we help each child/family develop a self-regulation plan to help them feel safe through unfamiliar experiences and transitions. Most importantly, we strive to find the most beneficial relationships for each child to cultivate over the course of 4 weeks. That is where the magic begins. It also helps that camp is run by a team of phenomenal educators and speech and language pathologists!
Many parents wish we would extend camp into the school year because it’s challenging to say goodbye at the end of summer.
